Been doing a lot of reading and researching on the web about the rails for the simmons board. Information was scarce but 60-40 down rails that have a hard edge near the tail seems to be what most are doing. So this is where I am headed. I have also cut the nose off, and am starting to get her reading for a nose and tail blocks. You can see the rough shape of the rails through the cross secion. Seems harsh to cut away the nose in such a manner but I love the way nose blocks look and the various patterns you can use.Found a good series of clips on youtube discussing the various shapes for the mini simmons.
It was really a great pattern design and shape you give to that wood. A nose shape is looking so attractive.
